On Tuesday, May 12th, the Bangkok Prep Shark Tank took center stage for a high-stakes, high-energy event. As a key highlight of Humanities Week, the Business and Economics department presented the Shark Tank house competition, where students were challenged to pitch random objects to a panel of "growling" judges. The participants showed incredible grit and professional composure, defending their ideas while absorbing critical feedback under pressure.Irene Lucky Wangui Mwangi from Year 10 was a wonderful contestant, showing massive confidence as she sold the judges on a golden step ladder—famously pitching it as "not just for short people!" Ryan Murphy from Year 13 also impressed the panel with his pitch for a next-generation air purifier, while Poonn Assawaprapart from Year 10 showcased a sleek wireless charger for iPhones, watches, and earbuds. It was fantastic to see so many students taking the opportunity to step into the tank or cheer from the sidelines as their friends faced the Sharks.Running alongside the main event, the Enterprise ECA put their business theories into practice with the "Bulldog Brew" social enterprise. They operated a bustling lunchtime pop-up, selling a variety of iced drinks to thirsty peers and staff. The group demonstrated excellent customer service and operational efficiency, and by the time the final drink was poured, they had cleared a whopping 2300 Baht in total profit. In the spirit of social enterprise, these funds aren't just sitting in a piggy bank; the students have pledged 100% of the profits to help fund and curate the new Business and Economics Library. This will provide resources for many future generations of entrepreneurs at our school. A huge thank you to our judges, staff, and the wider community for supporting the students' hard work and making this wonderful lunchtime activity possible.Congraulations to the winner of Humanities week: Shark Tank 2026 Irene Lucky Wangui.
